Loving You is Hard

Hold me tight tonight
As I wish away the early light
I may never see you again
Let me have tonight
Loving you has never been easy
Not knowing where you will be tomorrow
Is she holding you?
Does she feel the same about you as I do?
Sharing you is hard
But share you
I will
If it means I have you these few nights
Hold me tight tonight
Tears falling
Hold me like you will never let me go
Loving you is hard
But giving you up isn’t something
I am willing or able to do
She is a very important part of your life
I can’t ask you to give her up
Hold me tight tonight
Love me like the night will go on forever
She is calling
Pack up your guns and your overnight bags
It’s time to go
She might be over 200 years old
But without men like mine
Willing to give up everything
With wives and children
Willing to let them go
Knowing that freedom has its price
Loving you is hard
But love you I will
Till you are home again
I am willing to share you
If it means you will love me tonight
Love me like it’s the last night forever
Its dawn
As I watch you leave
I can only pray you will be home soon
Alive
Alone -
Tears fall
Arms ache
Heart breaks
Loving you is hard
But if this is the life I must lead to have you?
I will stand by you
Forever
Because that’s what it means
To love a military man.
